About Your Guide
Helen is a Master Practitioner in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). She has trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), PSYCH-K basic, AMDR (Applied Movement Desensitisation & Reconsolidation) which integrates EMDR methods with Mindfulness, Somatic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Hypnotherapy, as well as Coaching.

What gets in the way of reaching our highest potential and stepping out of the old, is our unconscious mind. This session is a safe space to uncover what’s keeping you stuck, stressed, and anxious.
The process is first to work out what is going on currently in your life and look back at the past to see which beliefs need tidying up. We heal these feelings and beliefs from the root up so you are de-hypnotised from your current way of thinking.
This paves the way to move forward with new sets of thoughts, unlocking new potentials for you.
“Through the techniques Helen uses, this session is like a reset and refresh. It reboots and updates your mindset so old patterns of behaviour are released to create space for a newer version of yourself.”
- Anne Bayford, Co-Founder of Odyssey The Platform

FAQ’s

A trance or hypnosis state is not something that I put you into. We enter a trance state of our own accord multiple times a day, like when our mind wanders off preoccupied with our thoughts or we disappear into a daydream.
When we are doing our problem or having a disproportionate reaction to a fear, we naturally go into a trance. Essentially I am trained to help de-hypnotise you from the trance state that your unconscious puts you in to protect you, so that you can believe what you choose too.
-
In simple terms we are de-hypnotising an issue or old belief to then replace it with something you’d like to believe instead. It is a software update for the mind. It’s very powerful and something you have full control over.
-
There is a very light trance state involved, much like when you daydream when driving and wonder how you got from A-Z. You are conscious the entire time and can break this state at any point.

Yes it is. Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy (QCH), who I trained with, launched a unique research project using the same outcome measures currently used to assess the effectiveness of talking therapies within the NHS.
71% Clients considered themselves recovered after an average of 6 sessions compared to an average of 42% for other approaches using the same measures (like CBT).
-
This is not traditional hypnotherapy so no. Every client and their experience of life is unique to them. I am trained in Word-weaving, a unique method of conveying hypnotic language, which enables me to provide bespoke scripts for you, to encourage and bring about the positive changes you desire.
-
Our first session involves an in-depth history take starting with where you are today, what you would like to achieve from us working together and then getting into some personal details around family, life, work etc. Most clients find a cathartic release in this first session and often report feeling lighter immediately.
-
Sometimes the most powerful work occurs between sessions, so yes, there may be homework. This could be anything from listening to a meditation to tapping (EFT) or journalling.

I work by a ‘first do no harm’ code of ethics. I work on a case by case basis but if you are on medication/are seeing a psychotherapist/have issues with drugs or alcohol I’d request that you reach out prior to booking a session. Working with the mind is powerful and needs to be under safe circumstances.
